Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal data Reactzy (https://reactzy.com/) collects, why, and what control you have over it. The site is run by Harcharan Singh, the data controller. You can contact us at any time at contact@reactzy.com.
The short version
- You can play without an account. We only ask for an email address if you want to save scores.
- Your display name and best score are public: on the leaderboard and on your share page (
https://reactzy.com/u/your-name). Your email address never is. - The site is free because it shows ads from Google, which use cookies. Where the law requires it, you choose whether to allow personalised ads.
- We never sell your data.
What we collect
If you create an account
- Email address, used to log you in and to contact you about your account if needed.
- Display name, shown publicly on the leaderboard and on your share page, together with your best score, its date and your rank.
- Password, stored only as a one-way bcrypt hash. We cannot see or recover your password.
- Your best score and the date you set it, plus the date you registered.
We don't store the result of every game, only your personal best.
When you play, logged in or not
Starting a game sets one cookie, rg_sid. It holds a random session ID that keeps you logged in
and lets our server check that a submitted score came from a real game it started (our anti-cheat).
It's a strictly necessary cookie, so it doesn't need consent. It expires after 30 days.
Security data
When a login or sign-up attempt fails, we store your IP address for a short time (about 15 minutes) to block password-guessing attacks. After that it is deleted automatically. Our hosting provider also keeps standard web server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested) for a limited time to keep the service running and secure.
Advertising and cookies from Google
We use Google AdSense to show ads. Google and its partners are third-party vendors that use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies lets it and its partners serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
- You can opt out of personalised advertising at Google Ads Settings.
- You can opt out of some other vendors' personalised advertising at aboutads.info or, in Europe, youronlinechoices.eu.
- Learn more in how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
Visitors in the UK, EEA and Switzerland are asked for consent by Google's consent message before personalised ads are shown. You can change your choice at any time with the "Privacy and cookie settings" link at the bottom of every page. If you decline, you may still see non-personalised ads. These aren't based on your browsing history, but may still use cookies for things like limiting how often you see an ad and preventing fraud.
Why we use your data (legal bases)
- To provide your account and the leaderboard: performing our agreement with you.
- Security, anti-cheat and keeping the leaderboard fair: our legitimate interests.
- Personalised advertising where the law requires it: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
Who we share it with
- Our hosting provider, which stores the site's data on our behalf.
- Google, for advertising as described above. Google may process data outside your country under its own safeguards.
- Authorities, only if the law requires us to.
How long we keep it
- Account data and scores: until you ask us to delete your account.
- Session data: up to 30 days.
- Failed login IP addresses: about 15 minutes.
Your rights
You can ask us to access, correct, export or delete your data, or object to how we use it. Email contact@reactzy.com from the address on your account and we'll respond within one month. To delete your account and remove your score from the leaderboard, just send us a request. You also have the right to complain to a data protection authority: in the UK that's the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), and in the EEA, your local authority.
Children
The game is open to everyone, but accounts are not intended for children under 13 and we don't knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we'll delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we use your data, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
